Plug-in for Rhino
Every axo.One command.
NurbsView draws exact military, cavalier and cabinet views of your Rhino model, then lets you walk through it in first person. Your geometry never moves.
Three ways in
- 01
Set View toolbar
Four icons between Rhino’s views and the named views. The three views: left click, then the side; right click, the side last used. The character: left click to place a point, right click to set off.
- 02
The arrow by a view’s name
Set View › Military (NurbsView) › NW, right after Isometric.
- 03
Command line
Type NurbsView, or _NurbsView _Cabinet _S in a macro.
Twelve views.Zero rotations.
Military from NW, NE, SE and SW. Cavalier and cabinet from N, E, S and W. Your model never moves.
Character mode
Then stepinto the model.
The Character button places a spawn point; Enter puts you there, at eye level. Walk, run, jump, slide and swim through your Rhino model, at its scale, with its physics. Nothing in the model changes.
Set View toolbar, its fourth button, or the commandNurbsViewWalk
Walking up to the podium’s steps at 5 km/h. Top left, the spawn point and what the character is doing; at the bottom, the keys.
Captured in Rhino 8 with NurbsView 1.3.8, in this site’s building at full size. The panel and the keys are the plug-in’s own.
Move like a body
- WASDWalk
- CtrlRun
- ShiftCrouch, lie down
- SpaceJump
- ShiftSlide, at a run
- RBack to the spawn point
- EscQuit
It speeds up and brakes like a body, climbs steps up to 21 cm, slips down slopes too steep for it and falls up to 240 km/h.
Spawn points
Rhino objects: select them, move them with the gumball, copy, delete, undo. Three colours of six points each.
- Scale 1:1 to 1:1000, height 0.50 to 2.50 m and field of view, per colour
- A name of yours, after its number
- ← → from point to point, ↑ ↓ from colour to colour
Physics, layer by layer
A Physics column in the Layers panel, a Physics page in each object’s properties. Try one:
Ordinary ground
Water
Swim upright, or lie out and head where you look. Splashes as hard as you land, a wake, bubbles, light through the water: never opaque.
What the body leaves
Dust and chips under the feet, a slide mark in the ground’s own colour, craters whose cracks draw back. All of it fades slowly.
Smooth on big models
What cannot be seen is not drawn, far objects come in through a blur, shadows lighten when the graphics card struggles.
45–51frames per second
A test city of 22,500 buildings, RTX 5080
Three moves.Then draw.
Download the plug-in, drop it onto Rhino, type one word. That is the whole install.

For architecture students
A military axo for Friday’s board, from any side, without rotating the model you spent the week on.
For small practices
Every drawing of a competition board shares one projection logic, view after view, sheet after sheet.
For computational designers
The views stay live: keep modeling, scripting and baking while the projections follow.
